Mario Bros. 3
Your challenge for May is the opportunity to show how much of a better gamer than me you are! (This aspect won't be hard). As some of you know, I cocked up my challenge at OLL pretty impressively (though not as impressively as @Badabingsta - The Real Luigi) So your challenge is the same as the first challenge featured on Gamesmaster. Super Mario Bros 3. All you need to do is finish the first level as fast as you can, but having collected at least 50 coins, with one life. Just upload a picture of the end screen of the level (you'll have a few seconds to take one after you hit the card at the end). As ever, playing the game in any format is permitted along with emulation, just no mods. It's available to play in so many ways it's unreal. Scores will be accepted from next Saturday, so you've got a bit of time to rest or practice in the meantime.

Final Fantasy IX
Alright then @everyone your challenge for April is going to be based around one of my favorite games of all time..... Final Fantasy IX If you've played it, you'll probably guess what I want from you. Very early in the game (in testing it took me 4 minutes to get there from the start while skipping cutscenes) there is a minigame in the main market square, while you control Vivi, where you can encounter a group of young girls playing with a skipping rope who will ask if you want to play. I want to see how many times you can jump that rope! I think I'm the last 25 years or so, my best is 10, but there's a trophy for hitting 1,000! Originally released for PS1, it's available for most modern consoles, and as ever emulation is allowed. If all goes to plan, I'll have it set up at OLL too if you're going and want to give it a try with me breathing on your neck (not because I need to, but because I want to). Entries will be accepted from 1/4/26 Let's see your hopping skills!

The challenge is a straightforward speed run of the first level, 1.1 Dam. Pick your difficulty, smash through it, share your time. Play within story mode, without any modifiers (if they exist in any of the available formats). I know it's on N64, through the retro consoles on Switch, and the remaster that's on Xbox. If you know of it elsewhere, please give me a shout, but as ever, emulsion is allowed within these challenges. Let's see how fast we can do it

Blast Corps.
The game in question is Blast Corps. For anyone unfamiliar, it's a kind of action puzzle game where you have to destroy buildings to clear a path for a runaway lorry carrying nuclear material. It's pretty unique. It's an N64 exclusive, but available through the classics on Switch and through multiple emulators, which are allowed as always. At the end of each level, you get a financial value for the damage you've caused, I just want the most money any of you can come up with on the first level, called Simian Acres. The Oregon Trail
This month's challenge is a slight change from the norm in that it's a bit longer than most.... I want you to travel about 2,000 miles in mid 19th century America, and hopefully not die of dysentery. This month's game is The Oregon Trail. Make your journey, share your score at the end, highest score wins it! There are multiple versions of the game available all over the place, ranging from Commodore 64 to PS5, and even versions playable in browser on mobile. They all have different scoring systems, so an aspect of this challenge is finding the best version for you. Most versions include some form of save states, so no pressure to clear it in one go.
