Seb

I am Sebastion Mauldin, First of My Name—known throughout the digital realms as Seb, Prince of the Indies, and steadfast host of the noble chronicle known as The Single Player Experience. I dwell within the lands of the United States, surviving my thirties alongside my fair and patient wife and my loyal hound, Sir Biscuit Breakthollow, Defender of the Couch and Eater of All Dropped Food. By fate (or folly), I stand as the youngest soul within the illustrious UCP family.

In ages past, I was but a humble listener of The Unofficial Controller Podcast, dreaming grandly from afar. I thought unto myself, “By my troth, these good fellows must know of the indie treasures they hath yet to behold.” So I did pitch my cause unto them—and whether by wisdom or poor judgment, they welcomed me not once, but many times more. Thus began my recurring quest.

Mine journey through gaming stretches back to the ancient relics of the Game Boy Color and the revered PlayStation the First, and since those early days I have wandered the ever-growing realms of video games without rest. In this modern age, I champion the cause of single-player epics, narrative-driven tales, and indie works, where small bands of creators forge mighty experiences through wit and wonder.

I pledge allegiance to the banners of PlayStation, Xbox, and PC—while casting a wary eye toward Nintendo, whose coffers run deep and whose prices bite like sour fruit (verily, they may suck upon a lemon 🍋).

Proud host. Loyal ally. Eternal gamer.

A happy and honored member of the Unofficial Controller Podcast family.

Scotty

They call me Scott , Scotty, AKA Switch Scotty, King of The Switch (that one I added in myself, sorry Mumsie). However I most commonly go by ‘Marathon Gaming’ My better self and YouTube channel handle.

What started in the early 90’s as an 8 bit journey from console to handheld, then back to console through the golden ages lapping up every jump in Bit technology from 8 to 16, to 32 than to 64 and beyond. This was soon ditched to the curb somewhere between the PS1 and PS2 whilst I ollied over my former gaming self on a girl hunting kiss chasing skateboard. Only to re-discover my love for gaming at college in the early to mid naughties after being rejected by hundreds of women and developing a passion for cheap student priced pub beers. I picked up where I left off and realised I had a whole lot of gaming catching up to do. From the year 2013 I started to re-collect my once traded in gaming treasures which without me knowing over the years birthed a gaming collection addiction.

Fast forward 10 - 15 years and I unknowingly created a games room full of gaming artefacts, cartridges and expensive cardboard. I travelled around the country to expo’s and markets observing and purchasing any and everything Retro gaming. I also started a YouTube channel, made great gaming friends and shortly after joined the number one star panel of gaming podcasts… the UCP!

Bobby

Born with an Atari controller from birth. Bobby has been an avid gamer since 1983. His father Bobby was also a gamer and built an extensive NES collection. Bobby grew up watching his Dad conquer some of the toughest NES titles, and eventually beating Contra in co-op mode at the ripe age of seven.

Continuing in his father's legacy, Bobby also loves a challenge and is considered a Platinum Hunter. Not only a solo player, he often co-ops by with his boy Marlon, brother Scott and Stepfather Danny, earning platinum trophies with them. His moniker "The Chronicles of a Gamer" on IG literally chronicles every game he has ever played on the NES, SNES, Genesis, Arcade and all five PlayStations.
